Teach Grow Love is offering 4 FREE Culturally Responsive Pedagogy in ECE workshops for early childhood educators in December (2023) and January (2024). The workshop series is for practicing early childhood educators in British Columbia. We will dive deeper into embedding culturally responsive pedagogy in early learning settings. Please note that a professional development certificate will be awarded for each workshop, and the series can be attended as four sessions or individually.
Many Voices, Many Journeys: Culturally Responsive Pedagogy in ECE

In this workshop, participants will learn about the foundational principles of culturally responsive pedagogy related to early childhood education. We will dig deeper into the complexities of the diversity of families and children accessing British Columbia’s early learning and care settings by discussing issues such as newcomer immigration and settlement, social and economic hardship, community engagement, and how these factors directly impact the young children in the care of ECE settings.

Creating Diverse Early Learning Environments

This workshop will explore authentic and practical strategies to embed diverse cultures in early learning settings. We will discuss strategies for creating learning experiences, integrating the arts, and using the environment as a third teacher to create learning environments honouring diversity in our early learning settings.
Workshop 4 – Culturally Responsive Pedagogical Documentation
January 18th, 2024, 6:30 – 7:30 pm PST
This workshop will introduce participants to meaningful ways of co-creating culturally responsive pedagogical documentation with children and families. We will explore a variety of formats for documentation, including Learning Stories, observations, and Reggio Emilia inspired pedagogical documentation. This workshop will focus on how to include the voices of families and children from diverse backgrounds in the pedagogical documentation process.
